At school, Ross Applesauce forgot his lunch on the bus, so Boom Sonic Boom saves the day by grilling a cheese sandwich for him with one of his handy gadgets, and once again, Pinky and Tyler are too late. After Daffinee gets caught in her automatic bed changer, Boom Sonic Boom races to save her, and Pinky and Tyler miss him again. Tyler suggests that if they wear running shoes, they can easily catch up with him. They hear him outside, so they quickly go but end up missing him. Abby tells her about Boom Sonic Boom which Pinky doesn't believe, because of how incredible it sounds, so they have to get a picture of him. Word spreads around about this incredible superhero, and Pinky, who is a news reporter, arrives at the party with Tyler, the photographer, revealing that they are volenteering at the Great Big Newspaper. Abby starts worrying that her party is ruined, so Bobby transforms into his superhero ego and races faster than a speeding subway to the ice cream truck, and comes back with cold tubs of ice cream. Later on, as Bobby is at Abby's birthday party, a heatwave breaks out in Great Big City, which starts to melt the ice cream for her cake. As he rolls to a vacant part of the hallway where nobody can see him, Bobby transforms into an incredible superhero named Boom Sonic Boom. The story features Bobby, rolling down the school hallway and being told by Miss McGanza about how good his report was, and then he is asked a few questions by two other kids, one being Abby McTaffy who asks if he will come to her birthday party. Tyler asks if he can play superheroes, which gives Pinky a story idea. Tyler, who sees a picture of him in his wheelchair, questions what they will do, with Pinky answering that they do what they always do. Pinky is waiting for Bobby Boom to come over.
